Check and confirmation
The digital menu may identify declared allergens for each dish, but the information must be validated by the restaurant and reviewed whenever a recipe, ingredient or supplier changes.
The 14 groups requiring declaration
Cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soya, milk, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, lupin and molluscs.
Cross-contact
The absence of a symbol does not automatically mean that a dish is safe. Cross-contact can occur in a shared kitchen. A dish will be described as “gluten-free” or equivalent only when expressly confirmed.
Tell us
If you have an allergy or intolerance, state it before confirming an order or ordering at the restaurant. Staff must confirm whether the dish can be adapted or served safely. Digital information helps consultation but does not replace that conversation.
